Private Members Club

Structuring an ultra-luxury members layer inside the MILA ecosystem, where exclusivity, identity and belonging read as one across every venue the membership touches.

MM Club is the private members layer of RDG Group, an ultra-luxury membership built to live across multiple venues rather than inside a single room. It does not own a venue of its own. It sits above venues that already carry strong identities, mila and ava, and has to feel like one membership in both. The work included the development of communication and activation materials, member portals, event and partnership campaigns, and the visual and experiential standards that hold the MM Club experience consistent across venues and touch points. The system has since carried the membership into Casa Neos and Claudie, two venues that opened after the engagement, extending the layer into rooms it was never explicitly designed for.

The brief was materials for the club. The real problem was where the club lives. A membership that expresses itself inside brands it does not own is exposed to two collapses, and most groups fall into one without seeing the other was avoidable. The first is dissolution: the club disappears into each venue, so the member reads a MILA night or an AVA night and never quite feels the membership itself, the layer flattens into the host brand and stops being a distinct belonging. The second is override: the club asserts itself so hard that it fights the identity the member came for, and MILA stops feeling like MILA once the MM Club layer is on top of it. With activations running continuously across two venues, a stream of partnerships, dinners, portals and events all live at once, MM Club was exposed to both at the same time. The risk was not that any single event would fail. It was that membership would stop meaning one thing.

‍ ‍

That reading set the shape of the work. The task was not to design a club brand and place it everywhere, it was to build the layer that stays legible as a membership while remaining native to each house beneath it. MM Club carried a fixed register of its own, the mark, the tone, the sense of access, precise enough that a member recognizes it instantly, and adaptive enough that it reads as belonging inside MILA and inside AVA without overwriting either. The activation and communication system, the fliers, the e-blasts, the member portals, the partnership campaigns from spirits houses to wellness collaborations, was built as one continuous expression rather than a calendar of separate nights, so that volume never fractured the identity. The same discipline that governs the wider ecosystem, the flagship and its extensions across the MILA concepts, holds the membership layer above it. What kept MM Club coherent was not a template stamped on every venue. It was a standard exact enough that a distinct activation could be built inside it without the membership drifting.

‍ ‍

What the work produced is structural. MM Club reads as one membership across MILA and AVA, and across a continuous run of events and partnerships, rather than fragmenting into venue-specific perks that share a name. The signal of belonging stays constant even as the environment changes, so a member feels the same access whether the night is at MILA or AVA. And RDG holds a repeatable system for extending the members layer into new venues without renegotiating what the club is each time it moves. The clearest evidence of that is what happened next: the club has since expanded into Casa Neos and Claudie, venues that opened after the engagement ended, and the membership held its identity into both without the original author in the room. The membership became a position the group can carry across its portfolio, not an identity rebuilt venue by venue. A system that keeps working after the person who built it has left is the definition of one that was built as structure rather than performed as a look.

‍ ‍

The principle the engagement proved: a membership is not a set of perks distributed across venues, it is a single identity that must stay legible inside brands it does not own. The layer that signals belonging is what makes a club a club. It holds only when it is built to remain itself in every room while letting each room remain itself.
